A corporate event photographer in Düsseldorf often works in rooms built to impress: hotel ballrooms off the Königsallee, venues in the Medienhafen, the congress facilities by the exhibition centre and converted industrial halls. Around the big trade fairs, international companies host evening receptions for clients who have flown in, and those evenings have to be communicated quickly — often before the stand opens again next morning. Two things follow for the photography. The lighting shifts from stage spots to low mood light within minutes, so the equipment has to cope without flash dominating the room.     Three curved blocks, one of them in polished steel that reflects whatever stands in front of it. On a weekday this is office traffic; in the evening and at the weekend it is empty — and that is the difference between a portrait and a portrait with forty passers-by in it.

    The oldest public park in Germany: mature trees, a pond, and a small rococo palace at the edge of it. Five minutes on foot from the Königsallee and still quiet — the default for family and maternity sessions when the brief is green.

    Two hundred and forty metres with a light sculpture that tells the time, and the curved parliament building on the water in front of it. From the bank you get both plus the Rheinknie bridge in one frame — a subject that only works after sunset.

Questions

Can you cover a client reception after a day at the fair?

Yes. Exhibitors often combine it with stand photography earlier in the day; that is two separate bookings with a break in between. Receptions move faster than conferences, so please send the names and roles of your key guests beforehand so we can find them in a crowded room.

Our guests are international. Can you work in English?

Yes. Briefings, on-site coordination and delivery can all be in English, and we speak with the venue team in German on your behalf where that helps. For group photographs with mixed audiences we give instructions in both languages, which keeps things moving.

Which images should we prioritise for the press release?

Usually three: the main speaker on stage, a group photograph of the hosts and a wide view showing a full room. We put those at the top of the same-evening selection so your communications team can send the release first thing the next morning.
