Why product photography in Düsseldorf
Product photography in Düsseldorf tends to serve businesses that sell on appearance: fashion and accessories, cosmetics, wine and delicatessen, interiors and design objects. Many are smaller brands or online shops selling through their own site as well as marketplaces and social media, and that changes the brief. One beautiful campaign image is not enough. What is needed is a run of clean cut-outs in consistent light, plus mood frames that show what the brand is about, and both can come out of one session because they share a set-up. The work happens indoors, usually at your premises, stockroom or showroom, where the products already are. That saves packing, courier costs and the risk of something arriving scratched.
Plan backwards from your launch date. Files arrive five working days after the shoot, and uploading to shops and marketplaces usually takes further time. If new products need to be ready for a trade fair, schedule the session well before it. The time of day does not matter, because we bring our own lighting. What matters most is that every sample is complete, clean and on site when we arrive.
How the session runs
We need a table, power sockets and some room for lights and a backdrop; strong side light from windows is blocked out. The cut-out set comes first: a white background with lighting fixed once and kept for all similar items. Then we rebuild for mood frames, using props, materials or settings agreed in advance. Glass, glossy and very dark products need their own set-ups and more time. Three hours produce 25 edited photographs, supplied in square and vertical crops for marketplaces and social media.
