Why corporate event in Hamburg
Events in Hamburg are often held in rooms chosen to say something themselves — a converted warehouse, a conference hall overlooking the harbour, an agency’s own loft. For a corporate event photographer in Hamburg the venue is therefore part of the brief alongside the stage and the audience, and it is best captured before anyone arrives. The other local factor is light in those rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows look good in the afternoon but in winter turn into black mirrors by early evening. Anyone planning an event in the darker months should expect the harbour view to exist only as reflected lights on the water from about four o’clock, and brief accordingly.
Christmas parties cluster on December Fridays, and those dates go early; three to four months’ notice is sensible. Conferences in spring and autumn leave more room to manoeuvre. In winter, any shots of the venue in daylight need to happen before three in the afternoon, which usually means before the official start.
How the session runs
Everything follows the running order, which we go through with you beforehand. Before doors open we photograph the empty rooms, the branding and the details, then guests arriving. During the programme we alternate between stage, audience and reactions; in the breaks, the conversations. Guests who prefer not to be photographed wear a marker, such as a different-coloured lanyard, and we check the selection against it before delivery. A first set for social media comes the same evening, and 250 edited photographs within five working days.
