Why trade-fair photography in Cologne
International exhibitors who need a trade fair photographer in Cologne usually discover the problem in the hotel booking first. During the big shows at the Koelnmesse in Deutz, such as gamescom in August or Anuga every other October, rooms near the grounds are expensive and scarce. A photographer based here avoids that cost entirely and is on your stand before the halls open. The work itself follows an order that matters more than any individual shot: the clean stand before visitors arrive, then the team and products, then the conversations that justify the stand in the first place. In between, a press selection is edited on the spot, because a fair announcement published a day late has lost most of its value.
The cleanest stand views are taken between eight and nine, before public opening. Accreditation through the organiser takes several days, so book at least two weeks ahead, and earlier for the largest fairs. Opening day is usually busiest for conversations and the best day for press photographs; later days are quieter and suit product details. If your stand has a scheduled launch or talk, send the time so it anchors the six hours.
How the session runs
Before doors open we photograph the stand architecture, graphics and exhibits without people, then the stand team as a group. From opening we move to meetings, demonstrations and visitors, framing so that other exhibitors’ stands are not recognisable in the background, since those would need that exhibitor’s consent. Hall views and aisles are covered by the accreditation. Between blocks, a set for press and social media is edited and delivered that evening. Six hours on the grounds and 300 edited photographs in total.
