A Hebamme is a midwife who, in Germany, usually visits at home during the first weeks after birth. The visits are short and often in the morning. We schedule the session around them so neither is rushed, and you can simply tell us the times once you know them.
Our flat is small. Is there enough space?
Yes. A newborn session needs little more than a bed or sofa by a window and room for the photographer to stand. The framing is close, so the rest of the flat does not appear. Many Berlin flats are compact, and the results depend far more on window light than on floor area.
It gets dark early in a Berlin winter. Is daylight enough?
If we meet around midday, yes. Between roughly eleven and two, window light is bright enough even in December. After half past two it fades quickly, so in the darker months we avoid afternoon sessions and move the bed or sofa as close to the window as possible.
