Plan the session around naps first and light second. In summer, late afternoon works well: the sun is lower but children are not yet exhausted. October brings the strongest colour to the Plänterwald. From November to January it is best to meet around two, because daylight is gone before four. FAQ — Family session in Berlin
We are expats and our family lives abroad. Can we send the gallery to them?
Yes. The gallery is private but can be shared by link, so grandparents in another country can view the photographs directly. If you want a few frames specifically for relatives, mention it on the day, and the photographer will make sure there are good portraits of each child alongside the group picture.
Does a session in a Berlin park need a permit?
Not for a private family session. The fees and registration that apply in parks run by Grün Berlin, such as Tempelhofer Feld or the Mauerpark, concern commercial productions. A family photographing its own children, with a photographer it has hired privately, does not fall into that category.
Our children speak German and English. Which language do you use?
Whichever they respond to on the day. Many families in Berlin switch between languages, and children often relax faster when the photographer uses the one they speak at nursery or school. Tell us in advance, and the introductions and games will happen in that language.
