What must be settled beforehand are the rules in the ceremony room, such as flash, where we stand and whether we may move during the address, and the registry office sets those, not us. We ask in writing once your date is confirmed.
Fridays between May and September are the most sought-after slots. Weekday mornings are easier to get and have an advantage on the Römerberg, where tour groups rarely arrive before ten. Between eleven and two direct sun falls into the square; outside those hours the light is even and soft. In December the Christmas market fills the Römerberg, which is atmospheric but crowded. Get in touch as soon as the registry office has confirmed your appointment.
What does the session in Frankfurt look like?
We arrive half an hour before your appointment to photograph arrivals, guests and details outside. In the ceremony room we work from whichever position the registry office allows, covering the vows, the rings and the signing. Congratulations and a group photograph of everyone present follow straight away, outdoors where possible so the next couple can go in. For the forty-five minutes of portraits the three of us walk across the Römerberg to the Eiserner Steg and a short way along the river, while your guests go ahead to drinks or lunch. A hundred and fifty edited photographs arrive within a week.

Where does the group photograph happen if it rains?
Wherever everyone stays dry without blocking the next wedding party. That might be a covered entrance, if the registry office allows it, or the room at the restaurant where you celebrate afterwards. We settle it the day before from the forecast and let your witnesses know the plan.
Can the portraits include the skyline if we marry at midday?
Yes, the towers are in frame from the Eiserner Steg at any hour; the light is simply flatter than in the evening. If you want the lit skyline at blue hour, book a couple session from €220 on another evening, wearing your wedding clothes again if you like.
What changes if our date falls during the Christmas market?
The Römerberg fills with stalls and people, so a group photograph right outside the building gets tight. We move to quieter corners for it and head towards the river earlier for your portraits. In return it is dark by about half past four, and the lights give pictures no other season can.
