FAQ — Holiday and city session in Munich
Can we do Marienplatz and the Englischer Garten in one hour?
Not comfortably. The walk between them eats a good part of the hour, and Marienplatz is rarely quiet enough for relaxed photographs. Pick one: the old town around the Viktualienmarkt, or the park from the Eisbach to the Monopteros. Both give two distinct backdrops within a few minutes’ walk.
Should we wear traditional Bavarian clothing?
Only if you would wear it anyway. Dirndl and lederhosen look natural during the Oktoberfest and at a beer garden, and a little like costume on a quiet morning elsewhere. If you do want them, the Englischer Garten suits them better than the old town streets.
