Why choose Maternity session in Munich?
A maternity photoshoot in Munich is best planned for weeks 28 to 34, and the season then largely decides whether it happens outdoors or at home. In late spring and autumn the city’s parks suit it well. The Nymphenburg park has wide, level paths and plenty of shade behind the palace, and the northern stretches of the Englischer Garten are far quieter than the lawns around the Monopteros. In high summer standing in the heat is tiring, and in winter it is simply too cold. Then we photograph at home by your largest window, and the tall windows of Munich’s older apartment buildings give soft, even light that suits this kind of portrait.
Outdoors, the last hour before sunset works best, which in summer means late evening. May, June and September into mid-October are comfortable; during the Oktoberfest we avoid anywhere near the Theresienwiese. In winter, book a morning at home when window light is strongest. Enquire around week 24 so the date falls safely within the right window.
What does the session in Munich look like?
We pick a place that needs little walking and has somewhere to sit. In the Nymphenburg park we start from the edges rather than the canal axis in front of the palace and stay on level paths. At home we need a room with a large window and a little clear wall. Your partner and older children join after the first solo frames, and breaks are welcome whenever you need them. Thirty edited photographs arrive in a private gallery within 48 to 72 hours.
What does the package include?
The Maternity session package in Munich covers: 30 edited photographs; Outdoors or in your own home; Partner and older siblings included; Private gallery within 48 to 72 hours. Nothing is added to the price after the session. Permits worth knowing about: Schloss Nymphenburg — Park free. FAQ — Maternity session in Munich
We are expats without family nearby. Can a friend come along?
Of course. A friend can hold a bag, help with a change of clothes or simply keep you company. If you would like them in some photographs too, say so beforehand. Partners and older children are included in the session as standard.
Do we need a permit for the Nymphenburg park?
Not for the public park. Commercial photography in the palace area itself, such as the courtyard, needs chargeable permission, which is why we stay in the park — it is quieter and shadier anyway. We do not use tripods or larger set-ups there.
What if the baby arrives early?
We move the appointment without fuss and can talk about a newborn session instead. That is also why we suggest not waiting until week 36 to book. Just let us know by phone or email as soon as plans change.
