FAQ — Wedding photography in Hamburg
Can we do portraits on the Elbphilharmonie Plaza?
Yes. Everyone going up needs a free timed ticket. Working with a camera alone, without lighting or an assistant, is straightforward; anything more needs clearing with the operator, which we do beforehand. On summer weekends the plaza is busy, so allow twenty minutes rather than ten.
Does a December wedding in Hamburg make sense?
It can. Daylight is gone by half past three, so the ceremony and portraits belong in late morning or around midday. In exchange the afternoon offers something summer cannot: the Speicherstadt lit up at blue hour from about quarter past four, and far fewer people in it than in the high season.
Do you cover weddings outside the city, in Lüneburg for example?
Yes. Lüneburg and Ahrensburg are part of the area we cover from Hamburg, as are Altona, Harburg and Blankenese. For a celebration outside the city the only real point is to put honest driving times into the running order, so the journey does not come out of the portrait slot. We settle that on the planning call.
